Derville O’Shea is a Consultant Haematologist at Cork University Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer in University College Cork.
She graduated from UCC and did her specialist training in Haematology in Ireland and London, UK.
She did a clinical fellowship in Stem cell transplantation in the Hammersmith Hospital London and subsequently completed her PhD on genomics in follicular lymphoma at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Queen Mary’s University of London.
Following this she then took up a consultant haematologist post in Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge, UK, specialising in lymphoproliferative disorders and stem cell transplantation before returning to CUH in 2010.
Dr O’Shea’s current research interests include lymphoma and CLL and her work has been published in journals such as Blood and Journal of Clinical Oncology.
