Dr Laura López Pascua is a post-doctoral clinical bioinformatician in the department of Oncology at the University of Oxford. She obtained her PhD at the University of Oxford in the department of Zoology, working on ecology and evolution of infectious diseases. She then moved to the University of Bath to continue her work on molecular microbiology studying immune evasion by MRSA. Since then, Dr Lopez Pascua developed an interest on determining how to best use cell free DNA to benefit patients with Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. Her research specifically focuses on developing bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms to improve the detection of rare mutations in circulating tumour DNA, as part of a number of different clinical trials.
