I am a registered nurse, cancer nurse researcher and scientist. I am an Oxford Clinical Academic Fellow, Treasurer of the UK Oncology Nursing Society Board, and UKONS Board link for the UKONS Haemato-oncology Members Interest Group. Since qualifying as a nurse in 1987, I have worked in a variety of health service settings, including acute and primary care, cancer care education and training, and service improvement and research. I am passionate about cancer nursing research to improve outcomes of people with cancer and won the Royal College of Nursing International Excellence in Cancer Research award in 2016. My current research focuses on nursing people receiving systemic anti-cancer treatments and models of nursing care, particularly in cancer clinical trials. I am member of several cancer nursing societies and have worked with cancer charities throughout my career.
